Calculate the heat required to make 6.4 Kg CaC2 from CaO(s) and C(s) from the reaction :
CaO(s) + 3 C(s) \(\text { → }\) CaC2(s) + CO(g) given that
\(\Delta_{\mathrm{f}} \mathrm{H}^{\circ}(\mathrm{CaO})\) = –151.6 kcal, \(\Delta_{\mathrm{f}} \mathrm{H}^{\circ}\left(\mathrm{CaC}_{2}\right)\) = –14.2kcal.
\(\Delta_{\mathrm{f}} \mathrm{H}^{\circ}(\mathrm{CO})\) = –26.4 kcal.
  1. 5624 kcal
  2. 1.11 × 104 kcal
  3. 86.24 × 103
  4. 1100 kcal

Answer
