Given below are two statements.
STATEMENT - 1: When the lift is moving upwards with an acceleration, a person on it will feel his weight to be greater than when the lift is at rest.
STATEMENT - 2: Apparent weight of the person in the lift is a sum of the normal reaction exerted by the lift and that due to gravity.
In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below:
- Statement - 1 is True, Statement - 2 is True; Statement - 2 is a correct explanation for Statement - 1
- Statement - 1 is True, Statement - 2 is True; Statement - 2 is a correct explanation for Statement - 1
- Statement - 1 is True, Statement - 2 is False
