Two bodies with masses, m1 and m2 (m1 > m2) are joined by a string passing over a fixed pulley. The centres of gravity of the two masses are initially at the same height. Assume masses of pulley and weight of the thread negligible. The acceleration of the centre of mass of m1 and m2, is :
- \(\left(\frac{\mathrm{m}_{1}-\mathrm{m}_{2}}{\mathrm{~m}_{1}+\mathrm{m}_{2}}\right) \mathrm{g}\)
- \(\frac{m_{1} g}{\left(m_{1}+m_{2}\right)}\)
- \[\left(\frac{m_{1}-m_{2}}{m_{1}+m_{2}}\right)^{2} g\]
- \(\frac{m_{2} g}{\left(m_{1}+m_{2}\right)}\)
Answer
(C) ( m_ 1 -m_ 2 m_ 1 +m_ 2 )^ 2 g
