The equilibrium constant for the decomposition of water,
\(\left[\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}(\mathrm{~g}) \rightleftharpoons \mathrm{H}_{2}(\mathrm{~g})+\frac{1}{2} \mathrm{O}_{2}(\mathrm{~g})\right]\)
is given by :
  1. \(K=\frac{\alpha^{3} p^{1 / 2}}{(1-\alpha)(2-\alpha)^{1 / 2}}\)
  2. \(K=\frac{\alpha^{3 / 2} p^{1 / 2}}{(1-\alpha)(2+\alpha)^{1 / 2}}\)
  3. \(\mathrm{K}=\frac{\alpha^{3} \mathrm{p}^{1 / 2}}{\sqrt{2}}\)
  4. \(K=\frac{\alpha^{3} p^{3 / 2}}{(1-\alpha)(2+\alpha)^{1 / 2}}\)

Answer

(B) K= ^ 3 / 2 p^ 1 / 2 (1- )(2+ )^ 1 / 2
