Given the following Ksp values : for M(OH)4,
Ksp(M) = 4.0 × 10–19 ; for Z(OH)2, Ksp(Z) = 1.0 × 10–14. One mole of each of the above solids is placed in a beaker containing 1 (one) litre of pure water. These solids go into equilibrium with their ions. Calculate the pH required for the metal ion concentrations to be equal, [M4+] = [Z2+].
