Given below are two statements: One is labelled as Assertion (A) and the other is labelled as Reason (R).

Assertion (A): Three projectiles are moving in different paths in the air. Vertical component of relative velocity between any of the pair does not change with time as long as they are in air. (Neglecting the effect of air friction).

Reason (R): Relative acceleration between any of the air of projection is zero.

In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below:

  1. (A) is true but (R) is false
  2. (A) is false but (R) is true
  3. Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is the correct explanation of (A)
  4. Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is not the correct explanation of (A)

Answer

(C) Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is the correct explanation of (A)
