A galvanometer shows full scale deflection for a current \(I_{g}\) . If a shunt of resistance \(S_{1}\) is connected to the galvanometer, it gets converted into an ammeter of range ( \(0-{I}\) ). When resistance of the shunt is made \({S}_{2}\) , its range becomes (0-2I). Then \(\left(\frac{{S}_{1}}{{~S}_{2}}\right)\) is

  1. \(\frac{{I}+{I}_{{g}}}{{I}-{I}_{{g}}}\)
  2. \(\frac{I-I_{g}}{I+I_{g}}\)
  3. \(\frac{2 {I}-{I}_{{g}}}{{I}-{I}_{{g}}}\)
  4. \(\frac{{I}-{I}_{{g}}}{2 {I}-{I}_{{g}}}\)

Answer

(C) 2 I - I _ g I - I _ g
