Given below are two statements.
A fair die is rolled once.
STATEMENT -1: The probability of getting a composite number is \(\frac{1}{3}\).
STATEMENT - 2: There are three possibilities for the obtained number : (i) the number is a prime number, (ii) the number is a composite number and (iii) the number is 1. Hence probability of getting a prime number is \(\frac{1}{3}\).
In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below:
- Both the statements are true and Statement - 2 is the correct explanation for Statement - 1
- Both the statements are true but Statement - 2 is not the correct explanation for Statement - 1
- Statement - 1 is true and Statement - 2 is false
- Statement - 1 is false and Statement - 2 is true
Answer
