Given below are two statements.

STATEMENT - 1: The inverse of the matrix \(A=\left[a_{i j}\right]_{n \times n}\) where  \(\mathrm{a}_{\mathrm{ij}}=0, \mathrm{i} \geq \mathrm{j}\) is

\(\mathrm{E}=\left[\mathrm{a}_{\mathrm{ij}}^{-1}\right]_{\mathrm{n} \times \mathrm{n}}\)

STATEMENT - 2: The determinant of a skew-symmetric matrix of odd order is zero.

In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below:

  1. Both the statements are true and Statement - 2 is the correct explanation of Statement - 1
  2. Both the statements are true but Statement - 2 is not the correct explanation of Statement - 1
  3. Statement - 1 is true and Statement - 2 is false
  4. Statement - 1 is false and Statement - 2 is true

Answer
