Assertion (A) : The carbocation \(\mathrm{CF}_{3}-\stackrel{\oplus}{\mathrm{C}} \mathrm{H}_{2}\) is less stable than \(\stackrel{\oplus}{\mathrm{C}} \mathrm{~F}_{3}\).
Reason (R) : In case of \(\mathrm{CF}_{3}-\stackrel{\oplus}{\mathrm{C}} \mathrm{H}_{2}, \mathrm{CF}_{3}\) is strong electron withdrawing, therefore increases +ve charge whereas in \(\stackrel{\oplus}{\mathrm{C}} \mathrm{~F}_{3}\), lone pair of ‘F’ overlap with vacant p-orbital of carbon reducing +ve charge by pπ - pπ bonding or back bonding.
