Given below are two statements. One is labelled as Assertion and the other is labelled as Reason.

STATEMENT - 1 (Assertion): Equation of the polar to the sphere \(x^{2}+y^{2}+z^{2}=z\) with respect to the point \((1,2,3)\) is \(x+2 y+3 z=7\)

STATEMENT - 2 (Reason): The point \((1,2,3)\) lies outside the sphere \(x^{2}+y^{2}+z^{2}=z\).

In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below:

  1. Both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion
  2. Both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion
  3. Assertion is true and Reason is false
  4. Assertion is false and Reason is true

Answer

(C) Assertion is true and Reason is false
