What they do

Zoologists and wildlife biologists study animal life — behaviour, physiology, ecology, evolution and conservation. They work in field habitats, zoos, research labs and policy bodies to document biodiversity, understand species requirements and develop conservation strategies. In India the role is tightly linked to tiger reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, forest departments and biodiversity boards.
