What they do
Structural engineers analyse and design the load-bearing frameworks of buildings, bridges, dams, tunnels, towers and industrial structures, ensuring they can safely withstand gravity, wind, earthquakes and other forces throughout their design life. They work closely with architects and construction teams, translating architectural concepts into structurally sound reality. It is a core civil engineering specialisation with broad career options in consulting, contracting and government.
Education path
PCM → B.Tech Civil, then M.Tech Structural Engineering.
