What they do
Social workers support individuals, families and communities facing poverty, domestic violence, child abuse, mental illness, addiction, old age and social exclusion. They assess needs, connect people to services, advocate for rights, facilitate community development and implement welfare programmes. Social work spans direct practice (casework) and macro-level policy and programme work.
Education path
Any stream → BSW, then MSW.
