What they do
Risk analysts identify, measure and manage risks that could harm an organisation's finances, operations or reputation. In banking and financial services, they specialise in credit risk (borrower default), market risk (price movements) and operational risk (system failures, fraud). They build quantitative models, test portfolios against stress scenarios and advise management on risk limits and mitigation strategies. The role is increasingly data-intensive, blending finance with statistics and programming.
