What they do
A Radiology & Imaging Technologist (also called Radiographer or X-Ray Technician) operates diagnostic imaging equipment — X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound and mammography machines — to produce medical images that radiologists and clinicians use for diagnosis. They position patients correctly, set exposure parameters, maintain equipment safety and ensure radiation protection protocols. In India they typically hold a B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology or DMRIT diploma.
