Mechanical & Automobile Engineering — Engineering

Designs and builds machines, engines and mechanical systems.

What they do

Mechanical engineers design, analyse, build and maintain the machines and systems that keep the physical world running — engines, vehicles, turbines, robots, HVAC and manufacturing plants. They turn an idea into a working object: modelling it in CAD, simulating how it behaves under heat, stress and motion, prototyping, and then scaling it up on the factory floor. It is the broadest engineering branch, touching automotive, aerospace, energy, defence, robotics and almost every product that moves.
