Instrumentation Engineering — Engineering

Designs the instruments and controls that run industry.

What they do

Instrumentation engineers design, install, calibrate and maintain the sensors, control systems and measurement devices that monitor industrial processes — from oil refineries and power plants to pharmaceutical manufacturing. They ensure that temperature, pressure, flow and other critical parameters are measured accurately and that automated control systems respond correctly. Their work bridges electrical engineering and process engineering.
