What they do
Forensic scientists apply scientific methods to collect, analyse and interpret physical evidence from crime scenes, accidents or disputed events. Depending on their specialism they examine DNA, fingerprints, toxicology samples, digital data, documents or ballistics. Their findings support police investigations, court proceedings and public-safety decisions.
