What they do

Fine artists — painters, sculptors, printmakers, installation artists, and mixed-media practitioners — create original works of art primarily for aesthetic, conceptual, or cultural expression rather than commercial function. They develop a distinctive visual language, exhibit in galleries and public spaces, participate in artist residencies, and often teach or write to sustain their practice financially.
