What they do

Data scientists apply statistical modelling, machine learning and domain expertise to extract insight and build predictive systems from complex data. They go further than analysts — they build models that automate decisions, forecast outcomes and surface patterns invisible to humans. In practice, the role blends exploratory analysis, feature engineering, model development, communication of results and collaboration with engineering teams to deploy models into production.

Education path

PCM → B.Tech (CS/AI) or B.Sc Statistics/Maths, then specialisation in data/ML.
