What they do

Museum curators and museologists are responsible for building, interpreting, and presenting museum and gallery collections to the public. They research objects, write interpretive content, plan exhibitions, acquire new works, and manage the long-term intellectual integrity of a collection. Museologists also study museums as institutions — their theory, ethics, and public role — and may work in museum education, policy, and management.
