Cinematographer — Film Making

Shapes how a film looks through the camera.

What they do

Cinematographers (Directors of Photography / DoPs) are the chief visual architects of a film or video production. They design the lighting, choose lenses and camera movement, determine shot composition, and work intimately with the director to translate the script's emotional intent into images. On sets they lead the camera crew and work alongside the gaffer (lighting chief) and key grip.
