Chemical & Petroleum Engineering — Engineering

Turns raw materials into fuels, chemicals and products at scale.

What they do

Chemical and petroleum engineers design and operate industrial processes that convert raw materials — crude oil, natural gas, chemicals, food or pharmaceuticals — into useful products at scale. Chemical engineers focus on reaction engineering, heat and mass transfer, and process design; petroleum engineers specialise in the exploration, drilling, reservoir management and production of oil and gas. Both rely on deep knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and process simulation.
