What they do

Biotechnologists apply principles of biology and technology to develop products, processes and solutions in medicine, agriculture, food and the environment. They manipulate living organisms or their components — genes, proteins, cells — to create vaccines, diagnostics, GM crops, biofuels and industrial enzymes. The field sits at the intersection of molecular biology, biochemistry and engineering.

Education path

PCB → B.Tech/B.Sc Biotechnology, then M.Sc/M.Tech.
