Art Conservator / Restorer — Museology

Restores and preserves art and artefacts.

What they do

Art conservators and restorers examine, stabilise, and restore artworks and cultural artefacts — paintings, sculptures, textiles, paper, ceramics, and objects — to prevent further deterioration and, where appropriate, recover original appearance. The work is a precise intersection of art history, chemistry, and craftsmanship, undertaken in museum laboratories, conservation studios, and heritage sites.
