What they do
Anthropologists study humankind across time and cultures — examining social structures, belief systems, kinship, language, material culture and evolutionary biology. They spend extended periods in communities observing behaviour (ethnography) or excavating sites, then analyse and publish findings that inform policy, development programmes, public health and cultural preservation.
Education path
Humanities → BA/MA Anthropology, then PhD.
