What they do
Accountants record, classify and summarise an organisation's financial transactions, prepare statutory accounts and ensure compliance with tax laws and accounting standards. They maintain ledgers, reconcile accounts, prepare monthly MIS reports, file GST and TDS returns, and support audits. The role is foundational in every industry — manufacturing, services, NGOs, government and startups all need accountants.
