The school timetable, solved.

Overview

Generate a clash-free timetable from your academic data, tune it with 25 plain-language rules, handle substitutions with automatic notifications, and publish to every teacher, student and parent.

The solver places every period without teacher, class or room clashes, then grades its own work A to F — with a breakdown of gaps and repeats and a one-click Improve pass.

Type “after 2 continuous periods every teacher gets a break” and it becomes a real rule from a 25-rule catalog — previewed, with a count of what it would break, before you apply.

Mark a teacher absent and get their exact periods with free, subject-matched substitutes suggested — then push and email go to the substitute, the students and their parents, plus a 6 am daily digest.

Publish when you’re ready — teachers, students and parents see their personal timetable on web and mobile, electives filtered per student, while your drafts stay private.

Minutes, not weeks. Build lessons from your academic data in one click, generate, and read the health grade. Most schools then spend their time on preferences — the clash-free part is automatic.

Yes — assigning cover notifies the absent teacher, the substitute, the affected students and their linked parents by push and email, and a daily 6 am digest summarises the day’s changes. Every notification respects per-user preferences.

No — upload your current Excel workbook, or just a photo of the printed grid, and the AI reads it, matches subjects and teachers to your data, and shows a preview before anything is applied.

From academic data to a clash-free week in one click.

The solver reads your classes, subjects and teacher assignments, builds the lessons, and places every period without a teacher, class or room clash — honouring time-off, breaks and your own rules. Hard constraints never break; subjects with no teacher assigned are flagged rather than quietly skipped. Twenty-five tunable rules cover the things that make a timetable liveable — maximum consecutive periods, subject spread across the week, double periods, free afternoons — and each can be strict or merely a preference, scoped to everyone or to one teacher, class or subject. A health grade from A to F breaks down gaps, repeats and long runs, and Improve keeps polishing.

Model your school the way it actually runs.

Real schools are irregular, and a timetabler that assumes eight equal periods is useless by Tuesday. Bell schedules take uneven periods, five, six or seven-day weeks, and a two-week A/B cycle if you run one — or generate the whole day from seven numbers. Model buildings, floors and rooms, with a home room per class-section. Place special periods like PT, Lab and Library per section per week. Assign supervision duties for assembly, lunch and the gate, load-balanced automatically. Student-level electives sit as parallel options in one band, where each student sees only their own. A click-grid paints any teacher’s unavailable slots in seconds.

Drag, drop, and only publish when you’re happy.

Move any period by drag-and-drop — the grid highlights every legal landing slot, rejects illegal drops with the exact reason, and suggests ranked swaps when a card has nowhere to go. A rejection names the rule, the teacher and the room, so it teaches you the constraint instead of just refusing. Lock the periods you hand-placed and a regenerate reshuffles only the rest. Your working copy stays private until you publish, with an unpublished-changes banner and a diff of what will move; teachers and students always see the last published version. Flip between class, teacher, subject and room views, and export any grid or a whole-school PDF booklet.

Type the rule. Ask the question. Assign the cover.

Tell the assistant “after 2 continuous periods every teacher gets a break” and it becomes a real rule, mapped onto the twenty-five-rule catalog and previewed with a count of how many current placements it would break — before you apply anything. The point is that nobody has to learn a rules interface to change how the week behaves. Ask who is free at period five tomorrow, when a particular teacher teaches, or what changed since Friday, and get an answer read off the live timetable. Declare a holiday, apply a day override, or arrange a full day of cover, all in the same conversation, by chat or by voice.

The annual timetable week becomes an afternoon

Feed in classes, subjects and teacher assignments, generate, and read the health grade. Tighten rules in plain language, run Improve, and publish when the grade satisfies you — the drag-and-drop board is there for the handful of periods you want to place by hand.

Absences handled before the first bell

Mark a teacher absent and the system lists exactly their periods for that day, suggests free subject-matched substitutes, and notifies everyone affected — substitute, students and parents. Print day slips so every teacher’s desk has the day’s plan, cover included.

Everyone sees their own timetable

Teachers open their personal grid with duties and cover on the web or the mobile app; students see their class, with electives filtered to their own choices; parents follow each child’s day and get a morning digest when something changes.
