Content (Site Admin)

Self-hosted only — browse the Edukali content packs your licence includes, buy the ones it does not, and download and import question banks and curriculum onto your server.

What this page does

The Content page installs Edukali’s ready-made question banks and curriculum onto your own server. Content is delivered in packs — each pack covers a board, grade and set of subjects — and what you may install is decided by your licence. Installing a pack downloads it and imports it into your question bank, so your teachers can use it exactly like content they wrote themselves.

This page is for self-hosted installs only, like Updates & License. On Edukali cloud it reports “Not a self-hosted instance” — hosted instances already carry Edukali’s question bank, with nothing to download.

Each row names the pack and, underneath, its scope (board · grade · subjects), how many questions it holds and how large the download is. Badges tell you where the pack stands: Installed v3, a blue v4 available when a newer version is out, Not included when your licence does not cover it, or Renew to update when it does but your support window has lapsed.

Installing a content pack

Find the pack you want. Packs your licence covers show an Install button (or Update to v… if a newer version is out).

Click it and read the confirmation — it tells you the download size and warns that the import runs in the background and can take several minutes.

Click Install (or Update) to start.

Watch the progress panel move through Downloading, Verifying and Importing. You can carry on using Edukali while it runs — or click Cancel to stop it; anything already imported stays in place.

When it finishes you get a count of how many questions were added and updated.

Updating a pack never overwrites your own work. Questions your teachers have edited locally are detected and left exactly as they are — the summary at the end reports how many of your edits were preserved.

Packs your licence does not include

A pack marked Not included is one your licence does not cover — its row offers Buy this pack, which opens Edukali to purchase it. A pack marked Renew to update is one you already own at an older version: the copy you installed keeps working, but installing the newer version needs an in-date support window, so the row offers Renew support instead.

Click Buy this pack on the locked row. Edukali opens in a new tab.

Complete the purchase with the account that owns your licence.

Come back, open Updates & License and click Check now so this server picks up the new entitlement, then return here — the pack is now installable.

If nothing is listed

An empty or errored list almost always means one of two things. If it says the instance is not activated, go to Updates & License and activate your licence key first. If the content service is unreachable, it is a temporary connection problem — content you have already installed is completely unaffected, since it lives on your own server.

Controls

Downloads the pack and imports it into your question bank. Runs in the background; your local edits are preserved on updates.

Shown while an install is running. Stops the download or import — content already imported stays installed.

Shown on packs your licence does not include. Opens Edukali to purchase the pack.

Shown when you own the pack but your support window has lapsed. Your installed copy keeps working; renewing lets you take the newer version.
