Course categories (Site Admin)
Build the site-wide, nestable course category tree shared with every school.
What this page does
This page manages the site-wide course category tree — the shared taxonomy every school can use to organise its courses (e.g. STEM ▸ Science ▸ Biology). Categories are nestable; each can carry an optional ID number (handy for imports), be marked Hidden, or be flagged as a global Site-wide category visible to all tenants.
This is the same category editor schools see, but here it runs in platform scope — categories you create are global and shared across every organization.
Common tasks
Enter a name (required). To nest it, pick a parent category; optionally add an ID number and description.
Tick Hidden if it should not be shown to students, then save.
Click the pencil on a category to edit it.
Change its parent to move the whole branch.
Use the trash icon to delete an empty category — courses keep existing but lose that category assignment.
Controls
Create a top-level or nested category (name, parent, ID number, description, hidden flag).
Rename, re-parent or toggle hidden. Available on editable rows.
Remove a category. Courses inside it are not deleted — they just lose the category.
