Terms (School Admin)
Dated academic phases within an Academic Year — e.g. "Term 1" or "Semester 2" — each with a start and end date and an optional default flag.
What this page does
A Term is a dated phase within an Academic Year — for example Term 1, Semester 2 or Trimester 3. Terms sit between the Academic Year and day-to-day records in the hierarchy, giving exams, attendance and reports a period to belong to. Each term has a name, an academic year label, a start and end date, and can be marked as the default for new records.
Common tasks
Click New term and enter a Name (e.g. "Term 1").
Type the Academic year it belongs to (e.g. "2025-2026").
Set the Start date and End date for the term.
Tick Set as default term if new records should default to this term, add an optional description, then Create.
Use Download template to prepare terms in bulk in Excel.
Deleting a term removes it. Records linked to it keep their data but lose the term grouping.
