Subject access (School Admin)
Assign the subjects your organization owns to students, teachers and cohorts; cohort access follows membership automatically.
What this page does
The Subject access page controls who can use each subject your organization owns, per product. Subjects appear as collapsible cards; expand one to assign it to Students, Teachers or Cohorts. Cohort assignments are dynamic — access follows cohort membership automatically, so adding someone to a cohort grants them everything that cohort has.
Common tasks
- Click Grant access to launch the multi-step wizard, or expand a subject card to work inline.
- In a card, pick the Students / Teachers / Cohorts tab.
- Search the list, then click Assign per row, or use Assign all (shown) / Remove all (shown) for bulk changes.
- Filter by product using the product pills (shown when you own more than one product) and search by subject, board or grade.
Prefer cohort access for classes that change over time — you assign the subject once and membership keeps it in sync. Toggles apply optimistically and revert on error.
Buttons & controls
- Grant access
- Opens the multi-step grant wizard (shown when at least one owned subject exists).
- Within a subject: Students / Teachers / Cohorts tabs, each with counts and its own search.
- Assign / Assigned
- Per-row toggle granting or removing access; assigned rows show a check.
- Assign / Remove all (shown)
- Bulk buttons that apply to every currently filtered row in the active tab.
- Product pills
- Filter subjects by product (e.g. QBank); shown only when more than one product is owned.
