Guardians (School Admin)
Parents & guardians linked to students — profiles, relations, a primary flag, sibling-shared logins and Excel import.
What this page does
The Guardians page is your parent/guardian directory. Each entry links a guardian to a student (their ward) with a relation (Father, Mother, Guardian…) and an optional Primary flag. Every guardian gets a parent login, and siblings can share one guardian — adding a guardian for a second child reuses the same login rather than creating a duplicate.
Common tasks
Click Add guardian, pick the student by admission number (or type their name), then enter the guardian’s name, relation, gender, email and contact number.
Optionally set a Username and Password (auto-generated if blank) and tick Primary guardian, then Add — a parent login is created, or reused for a sibling.
Click a guardian’s name or Edit to update their details or primary status.
To load many at once, click Download template, fill the Excel sheet, then Import — a preview lists each row as Ready or Error and shows whether the login is new or reused.
Removing a guardian only removes the link to that student. The guardian’s login stays active for any other wards, so siblings keep their shared parent account.
Buttons & controls
Opens the create form — student (by admission number or name), guardian details, relation, primary flag and an optional login.
Opens the Excel/CSV import dialog with a per-row preview (Ready / Error) and new-vs-reused login status.
Downloads guardianimporttemplate.xlsx with the expected columns (student admission number, guardian name, relation, contact, login…).
Each row shows the relation badge and a Primary badge for the main guardian, plus the linked ward and admission number.
Unlinks the guardian from this student; the login persists for other wards.
