Cohorts (School Admin)
Named groups of members used to enrol or message many people at once — create cohorts, add members and bulk-enrol them into a course.
What this page does
A cohort is a named group of members — for example "Grade 10 Science" — that you can enrol or message all at once. Cohorts appear as cards showing the name, description and member count. They also drive cohort-based subject access and bulk imports.
Common tasks
Click New cohort, enter a name and an optional description, then Create.
Click Manage on a cohort card to open its drawer.
In the drawer, click Add members, search and multi-select users, then Add.
Use the Enrol all in course… dropdown to enrol every cohort member into a chosen course in one go.
Remove a member with the × button on their row.
Deleting a cohort removes the group and its membership list, but members keep their accounts and existing course enrolments.
