Admissions (School Admin)

The registration pipeline — register or receive an enquiry, verify it, then approve to admit: the admission number, student record and login are created in one step. Includes a public online admission form parents can fill without a login.

What this page does

The Admissions page runs your registration pipeline through four stages: Pending → Verified → Approved, with Rejected as an undoable side-branch. A registration can be entered by staff or arrive from the public online form. When you Approve & admit, Edukali generates the admission number, creates the student record and (optionally) a login — all in one step. Filter pills across the top show live counts per stage.

Each row shows the Reg. No, applicant name and contact, the Class and year applied for, and the Stage badge. Seats (per class) can cap intake — set a limit and approvals book a seat; a full class blocks approval until you raise the cap or free a seat.

Common tasks

Click New registration to log an enquiry (name, email/phone, class, academic year, remarks) — or let it arrive from the public form.

On a Pending row, click Verify once you’ve checked the details.

Click Approve to open the admit dialog — choose a section and roll number, tick Provisional admission if needed, and keep Create login on to issue the student a sign-in (needs an email on the registration).

Click Admit — the admission number is generated automatically and the student appears in the Students directory.

Use Reject to decline (with the row showing why); Undo returns a rejected row to Pending.

Click Seats to set a per-class cap (0 = unlimited) and see booked / total at a glance.

Approving into a class whose seats are full is blocked — raise the Seats cap for that class or free a seat first. Create login needs an email on the registration; without one, admit the student and add their login later from Users or the student record.

The public online admission form

Every school has a public admission form at /apply/<your-school-id — no login needed. Parents fill in the student’s details and pick a class, and each submission lands here as a Pending registration for you to verify and approve like any other. Use Copy public link in the header to grab the URL.

The public form link is shareable — put it on your school website, share it over WhatsApp or email, or print it as a QR code. A class only appears on the form once it is registration-enabled (open for online registration); a class with no seats left shows as full and can’t be selected. Applicants get a registration number to quote when they follow up.
