Question Library
Browse and search the shared question bank from inside Online Exam, filter by taxonomy, preview, and select questions straight into your exam.
What this screen shows
The Question Library tab is the shared question bank rendered inside Online Exam. It opens as a two-pane browser — a resizable taxonomy tree on the left (board → class → subject → chapter) and question cards on the right — so you can find existing questions without leaving the product. Tick questions to select them into the exam you are building. Because it carries the product context, if your access to Online Exam is subject-scoped the list shows only the subjects you own.
This is the same Question Library available across Paper Canva, Online Exam and Live Quiz — only the destination differs (here, selected questions flow into your online exam). The Live Quiz Question Library is the identical tool in that product, and Import Batches (linked below) adds new questions in bulk.
Opened as a tab, the library shows everything you have access to. Opened from inside an exam you are building, it is clamped to that exam’s scope — only the chapters (and topics) you picked on the scope screen are reachable, so you cannot stray off-syllabus while adding questions. If the list looks narrower than you expect, that is the scope doing its job; widen it with Change exam scope in the builder.
Controls on this screen
Drill board → class → subject → chapter in the left pane; drag the divider to resize (it remembers your ratio).
Token-based full-text search across question stems and metadata.
Narrow by board, class, subject, chapter, question type and difficulty.
Switch between card grid and dense list layouts.
Open a question to read its full stem, options and solution before you pick it.
Tick a card (or use the + button) to add it to the exam you’re building; a ✓ marks the ones already chosen.
Marking a question Out of Syllabus soft-removes it from the library everywhere (a confirm first shows where it is already used — papers, online exams, OMR). It stays inside those, but disappears from the bank and saved papers that used it are flagged to replace it.
