Student Chatbot
Build a guarded AI chatbot on your own material and assign it into a course — with safety rails, wellbeing flagging and teacher monitoring built in.
What it is
A student chatbot answers from material you supply — your notes, a chapter, a set of documents — rather than from the open internet. You define what it is for, it stays on that material, and students reach it through a course you control, never as a free-standing account.
- Safety rails are not optional. Every student-facing bot carries non-negotiable guardrails plus wellbeing flagging, and you can review conversations.
Building one
- Name the bot and say what it is for — the purpose shapes how it answers and what it refuses.
- Add the material it may answer from. Anything outside that is politely declined.
- Set the audience and tone for the class you have in mind.
- Assign it into a course as an activity. Students open it inside the course; there is no separate toolkit access.
- Monitor conversations from the course, and act on any wellbeing flags it raises.
