Resource — Mind Map
Attach an interactive mind map from Mind Map Studio; students explore it inline, read-only.
What it is
A Mind Map resource embeds an interactive map you built in Mind Map Studio directly into a course topic. It is study material, not a graded task: students pan, zoom and expand branches to explore the map read-only, with formulas typeset as real maths (KaTeX) and any figures rendered exactly as in the studio — the course embeds the same canvas, not a second, poorer renderer.
How to add it
- In Course content, click Add activity in a topic.
- Pick Mind Map.
Choose an existing map from the picker (configMode: instance) — it lists your Mind Map Studio maps, each with its grade · subject · chapter. No map yet? The create link takes you to Mind Map Studio to build one and come back.
- Click Add to course.
The activity shows the live map, not a snapshot — edits you make later in Mind Map Studio appear in the course automatically. Attaching a map also creates a share link so enrolled students can view it even though you are the author.
What students see
Students open the map inline on the course page (openMode: viewer), marked Read only. They pan, zoom and expand/collapse branches; any colour rules you set show with their legend, and node notes open on tap — including formulas and images inside the notes. A Filter button lets a student light up just a subset of nodes (say, only the hard ones) for focused revision.
- If the underlying map has been deleted, students see “This mind map is no longer available” — re-attach a map to fix the activity.
Completion
Not graded. Completion tracking is a per-activity setting — manual by default (the student marks it done after studying the map), or turn it off in the activity settings; either way it feeds the course progress bar.
