Activity — Live Quiz
A game-show-style live MCQ session students join with a code.
What it is
A Live Quiz activity attaches a game-show-style real-time MCQ session from the Live Quiz product. Students answer in sync — on their devices, with printed answer cards, or both — while you run the session live.
How to add it
In Course content, click Add activity in a topic.
Pick an existing session (configMode: instance, from /api/live-quiz/sessions) — or use Create new to open the full-page Live Quiz builder with the roster locked to this course and the answer mode defaulting to Both (devices + cards); the quiz is attached to the course on create. The join code is stored with the activity.
What students and teachers see
Clicking the activity routes by role: students are navigated to the join page (/join?code=…, deep-linked with the stored code) so they jump straight into the live session, while teachers land directly in the Host console — lobby, card deck, scanner and all. Course sessions use the course’s year-long named card deck (one card per student, printable from the course People tab).
Completion
Not graded in the course gradebook. Completion tracking is a per-activity setting — manual by default here, or turn it off in the activity settings. Completions feed the course progress bar.
