Activity — BigBlueButton

Run a live virtual-classroom session over BigBlueButton from inside the course.

What it is

A BigBlueButton activity hosts a live virtual classroom — audio/video, screen share, whiteboard and breakout rooms — over the open-source BigBlueButton platform, launched as an activity in your course.

Before you start

Video conferencing needs server credentials configured under Settings → Integrations. The platform resolves keys in a three-tier cascade — server → reseller → tenant — so a BigBlueButton URL/secret must be set at one of those levels before sessions will start.

How to add it

In Course content, click Add activity in a topic.

Title the session and set its options in the video-conference form (configMode: videoconf) — an optional Session length in minutes and a Recording toggle.

What students see

Students open the session from inside the course (openMode: viewer) and join the live room when it is running.

Completion

Not graded; completion is manual (e.g. mark done after attending).
