Activity — AI Tool

Embed any AI Toolkit tool as a course activity — students run it in-course with your preset inputs.

What it is

An AI Tool activity embeds any single tool from the AI Toolkit — a lesson-plan generator, a rubric writer, a text-leveller, and so on — directly into the course. You pick the tool and can pre-fill and lock some of its inputs, so students run a guarded, ready-to-go version right on the course page. Students do not need their own AI Toolkit access; the activity runs the tool on the course’s behalf.

How to add it

In Course content, click Add activity in a topic.

Choose an AI Toolkit tool, then optionally pre-fill any of its inputs and mark them locked or student-editable (configMode: aitool). Locked inputs are fixed for every student; the rest they fill in themselves.

What students see

Students open the activity and run the tool inline on the course page (openMode: viewer → the in-course AI Tool view). Your locked inputs are already set; they complete any remaining fields, run it, and read the result without leaving the course.

Teachers opening the activity see a Teacher preview banner: it runs the tool exactly as students will — locked fields are your presets — but the run spends your AI Units and is not recorded against any student.

Completion

An AI Tool activity is not graded — no score is written. Completion tracking is a per-activity setting — manual by default (the student marks it done after running the tool), or turn it off in the activity settings; either way it feeds the course progress bar.
